Sport has the power to change lives. Both on the pitch and off the pitch. But football can do more and has to do more. We can’t sit back and watch. (We’re essentially talking about a sport that was made for boys and not for girls. So we had to show this cliché being deconstructed.) There’s people from all over. Could be Ghana, Nigeria, Somalia, England. Everywhere, north, east, they come and they play. (Normally, we wouldn’t intract. There are loads of youngsters from the neighborhood and entire neighborhoods that are in conflict, you know.) When we are in there, there’s no trouble. Nothing. Like there’s no beef. Any problem that you have, you leave outside the gate. Playing football in the cage has helped and changed my life as I’ve come out with much more confidence. As not just with the game. But as a person I feel more confident within myself.
